TILTINGRIB1

Hello All! I have a new pattern for you! This is what I have been working on for all you knitters out there. Its…

TILTING RIB SCARF

THE DIAGONAL RIBBING ON THIS PRETTY SCARF TILTS IN ALTERNATING DIRECTIONS GIVING IT INTERESTING DIMENSIONAL TEXTURE. DON’T BE DAUNTED BY THE MANY LINES OF INSTRUCTIONS, THERE IS A VISUAL LOGIC TO THIS SCARF, AND YOU WILL PROBABLY BE ABLE TO KNIT IT UP QUICKLY, USING THE DIRECTIONS ONLY FOR THE CHANGING DIRECTION BITS. IT SHOWS UP IN REVERISE ON THE BACK, SO THERE IS NO UGLY SIDE, GREAT FOR SCARVES, AS YOU WEAR THEM IN 3 DIMENSIONS.

YOU WILL NEED:

STRAIGHT OR CIRCULAR US 7 NEEDLES

220-228 YARDS OF KOIGU KERSTI CREPE MERINO DK WEIGHT (APPROX 2 SKEINS)

DARNING NEEDLE FOR FINISHING

GAUGE:

THE GAUGE OF THIS SCARF IS NOT TERRIBLY IMPORTANT, AS THERE IS NO FIT TO WORRY ABOUT. BUT JUST AS A REFERENCE WITH THE YARN AND NEEDLES USED, PER 2 INCHES YOU GET 12 STITCHES AND 13 ROWS. THE SCARF MEASURES 6 INCHES IN WIDTH. YOU CAN VARY THE NEEDLES SIZE AND WEIGHT OF YARN TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR SCARF. IMAGINE HOW PRETTY IT WOULD BE AS A BIG FAT SCARF IN A CHUNKY WOOL, OR HOW SLEEK AS A SKINNY SCARF IN FINGERING WEIGHT.
