This is on the darker side for a rosé. Think raspberry juice.
A mixture of cooked and fresh strawberries come in wafty waves to whet your appetite.
Warm fruit pie, the roasted strawberry that was so prevalent in the nose carry through to the taste. There are rich undertones that are reminiscent to those of port. The acidity carries with it flavours of rhubarb, but the finish is rather short.
This wine can stand up to some steong flavous, like onions and Cheese, and could wwork equally well with a steak or chicken. Also would be great to wash down a chocolatey dessert.
We washed down caramelised onion tarts with this yummy slightly sweet wine. Being on the sweeter side I wouldn’t drink this on its own. I love that is a New York state wine, drink local…….well sort of.
