One of the things I love best about living in the city this time of year are the extravagant, over the top, holidazzled shop windows in Manhattan. I went for a walk the other day in the 59th street/5th avenue area and snapped these lovely pictures. First up, the imaginative windows at Bergdorf Goodman. Always fantastical, always magical, and the detail! Amazing. To give you an idea of the amount of work and detail, all the mannequins are life sized!

Make it work.
Its the sparkly UNICEF snowflake. So pretty. Still pictures don’t do it justice. It twinkles, and pops and sparkles with lights.
Whimsy on the Louis Vitton building.
Now for the windows at Tiffany’s! This year its all about snowy white paperscapes cut out in intricate detail with Louis XIV ladies swanning about among the diamonds. Gorgeous!
Some other shops along 5th Ave.
Even the hotdog vendors are in the spirit!
I love to walk these city sidewalks. This isn’t even the half of all the fabulous windows. I hope to go get good pictures of Macy’s, Bloomie’s and Saks. they always go all out with the windows. I hope wherever you are, you have things that put you into the holiday spirit, no matter which holiday you celebrate. :O)
