52 Project: 52/52

IMG_7545.JPGCould it really be… a whole year has whizzed by already?  I really hope you enjoyed this series of pictures.

See the complete year here!

I scouted a couple of different locations for next time around. I plan on doing this again next year, but I think I’ll shrink it down to once a month.

A 12 Project. 🙂

I’ll be posting the first picture next month (week). Have a happy new year!   IMG_7541.JPGIMG_7542.JPG

Our corner is really starting to look like winter again. The weather has been quite warm really, for December, in the mid 40’s. Cold, but not freezing cold. Now that the trees are bare I love that you can see the squirrel nests tucked into the y’s of the tree limbs. I bet it’s quite cozy in there.  Only two weeks left of this project!  I’m still deciding on a new location for next year’s project. hmmmm.

You can see the entire year so far here.

IMG_7027.JPGIt’s a gorgeous cold and rainy November morning this Monday. Quiet, foggy, subdued, a steady drizzle of cold rain. The trees on our corner are getting barer and more winter-like every day as we close in on the end of our year. Most would be unhappy with this kind of day, but I love being outside in the brisk wetness, it’s sort of moody and there’s a poetry in this type of weather. It makes going back inside extra cozy. While I would prefer to spend this type of day in my flat, with a little puttering, cooking and a bit of knitting… I am grateful to be employed. 🙂  If it’s not raining too much I might go for a little walk in the park later at lunchtime and take a few pictures.

Wherever you are, I hope you’re loving the weather- whatever it may be! -Marie

IMG_6940.JPGWhat a difference a week makes! We’ve had temperatures dipping low at night, and all the leaves in the park are changing colors and falling to the ground. The afternoons have still been warmish, mid 50’s.  It seems like these trees were green for so long, it’s kind of odd to see them all gold, the tree’s limbs becoming more and more exposed. It’s funny to me how quickly the turning of the seasons happens once it gets going.

It’s nearly time for the snow to start flying! I, for one, cannot wait! Have a wonderful week! -Marie

Grey and cool this Monday morning in NYC. Fifth Avenue is prepping for the Columbus Day parade this afternoon. You can see all the blue police barricades set up and waiting. If I had been thinking, I would have brought my lunch with me today, oops. That means I have to navigate my way through the crowds to get some grub at lunchtime. Oh well!

The trees on our corner are starting to shift, they aren’t that vibrant summer green any more. There are little bits of gold and brown creeping in, and the greens are now deeper, tawny olives. The colors are coming.  It’s kind of funny how quickly they come and go here in the city. Upstate they change over the course of several weeks as frosts creep in, here it can happen as fast as a weekend. Blink and it’s gone.

Have a wonderful fall week! -Marie

IMG_5986.JPGChilly Monday morning today.  I feel a little bit like I wasted my Sunday though, I was under the weather and spent nearly the whole day asleep. First in bed, then on the couch in front of football games, then back to bed again.

I’m back at work this morning though, feeling a little better for all my rest but the throat still hurts. I have to brace myself every time I try to swallow. Maybe I’ll go home early? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
